Rosalie.

Since some time, Rosalie, Jo and I share our flat with the three of us.
This place feels home! And I feel myself very lucky that I got close
to these two very inspiring women (more about Jo here). Rosalie is an artist
who works on communicative interventions and does a lot more interesting,
fresh stuff. Last week I visited her studio and took some pictures of her.
And today we put our skills together to create some information material.
I recommend a visit. Or a pizza.

saturdays, 6am

Every Saturday early morning, my Flatmate Jo visits to the car-boot sale.
Once I had the pleasure to accompany her. We went to Wimbledon and visited
the market which is next to a dog race stadium. You have to pay entrance
as a visitor, depending when you arrive (the early morning is more expensive).
It was a pleasure seeing Jo doing her job. She has a special view and
discovered things there I did not recognize at all. Later, she gives them
back to the public: on her blog, in a webshopat Spitalfields Market
and recently also at Brick Lane Market.

east street market

East Street Market is the closest market to where I live now in London.
It rules life on East Street in Camberwell every day except monday.
You will find everything you need for your everyday live. It feels 'authentic'
cause it is mainly used by the (multicultural) surrounding neighborhood.

East Street Market is one of London's oldest, largest and busiest markets
and is as fondly visited now by local people as it has been for decades.
There are a wide a variety of goods on offer, from fresh fruit and vegetables
to African clothing and materials.

(Southwark Council website, more informations e.g. opening hours there)

Also I found these 1990s beauties there.

christmas decoration

This beautiful thing came in a letter from Germany (above). It fits to the decoration in our living room (below). I like, that Jo calls it christmas decoration. Its not stars, nor silver or gold or red or something like this. But: It makes happy, for sure. By the way, it always seems to be a wonder for me to get a real personal letter or a parcel by mail from my friends and family. Something real is transported all the way from them to my place. Its really strange that this normal process seems to be
a wonder now and all these thousand emails etc. from here to there became normal.

the queen of the day

----------------------
This is Jo. I am happy to live with her for a while. Yesterday we decorated
ourselves with different things e.g: our new coloured kitchen sponges,
the domestic pigeon and some of the many plants. Jo is an artist, a market
stall holder at Old Spitalfields Market, a professional car boot sale shopper,
author of this wonderful blog: toot as in foot. And a lot more.

pink

When I moved in here, again I realised,
that I own a higher-than-average amount
of pink things. The plate was the only pink
thing in this flat before. It is presented in the
way my flatmate Jo is selling things.
Although you will find nothing pink there,
you should visit her shop.

stationeries #2

I just couldn't resist them. How they are meant to be equal and
how different they are. The paper. The colour. The type.
And finally I know where the name of this website comes from:

3 for 5

One of the nicest cushion in London busses.
And a 3 for 5 offer from Petticoat Lane Market.

postcards and patina

The most interesting postcards are those, that stand in shops for years, ignored by every good tourist. They get a certain patina which deals kind of honest with the medium itself. Sorry, I am not more than just a postcard.

stationeries / papeterie / Papierwaren

I love stationeries. Here is what I got in London, so far.
