trees, embracing

--------

In Offenbach, there is a painting on a garage door that I pass from time to time.
It shows two trees standing next to each other, overlapping a bit. Since I saw
this picture I always think that that's the way trees are embracing each other, they
just grow into each other. Once they decide to do it, there is no going back.
I was thinking of this, when I saw these two trees in Hamstead Heath last autumn.
For now, it's not more than a hand shake. But there is no going back.

green / november

Although most of the trees have finally lost their leaves
(later than at home), november is a lot more green here.
This is the view out of the window of our living room.
(I still can't believe that it will be december tomorrow.)

Home

My friend Alice send me some flowers.
They make me think of the german autumn
I will miss this year. And all these other
autumns of the past and of the future.

Rosemarie.

After seeing two children, who were giving their garden apples away
in front of their house and a desk, that needed a new home, this
was the third time I saw this kind of sharing things in my neighborhood.
Besides, Rosemarie is a beautiful name.

The smell of friendship:

-------------A quince.-------------

One year ago, we had a magic weekend at the countryside with a couple of friends.
Schulz found a symbol for it: The smell of a quince. It's very gentle, but
it can fill a whole room. Yesterday, I bought this one and put it on my bed table.
Thank you so much Schulz for this analogy.

It's tropical.

There are much more palm trees in London than in Berlin.

autumn/time/less

In german, this little flower has a beautiful name: Herbstzeitlose (engl. meadow saffron). Translated it  means something like autumn-time-less. Summer is over. You will get used to it. Autumn has its beauties, too.
